Developing Strategic Plans and Action Plans
Having a strategic plan is essential for any organization. However, strategic plans are sometimes left unimplemented and forgotten on managers’ shelves. To ensure the effective operationalization of strategic plans, several key considerations must be taken into account during their formulation.
One crucial requirement is the active involvement of stakeholders in the strategic planning process, along with the utilization of foresight in its development. Additionally, establishing a feedback system and conducting regular evaluations of the strategic plan’s performance are vital principles in completing the planning process. It is not uncommon for strategic plans to remain merely as strategies and operational plans, with no provisions made for evaluating their implementation. Therefore, the feedback and performance evaluation stage must be periodically revisited to ensure continuous improvement.
